PURPOSE

Why are we here?    ~To Glorify God

Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.  Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name.

I Chronicles 16:28, 29

MISSION

What has God called us here to be and to do? ~ Glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ in our community and around the world.

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father,

and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have

commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of age.

Matthew 28:19, 20

VISION

What will we look like if we are effectively fulfilling our mission? ~ Be a growing body of Christ, nurtured and empowered by the love of Christ, intentionally reaching out to those without Christ where we are called to serve.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this will all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.

John 13: 34, 35

VALUES

What will we hold steadfast in order to succeed?

WE VALUE THE FULFILLMENT OF THE GREAT COMMISSION.

We want to fulfill the Great Commission by proclaiming the gospel to people at home and around the world.

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28: 19-20)

WE VALUE THE MINISTRY OF PRAYER.

We want not only to pray about everything, but to do everything by prayer.

“Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. “ (Ephesians 6:18a)

WE VALUE THE LIFE CHANGING POWER OF GOD’S WORD.

We want to see people’s lives changed through corporate, small group, and personal study of God’s Word.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16, 17)

WE VALUE THE MUTUAL MINISTRY OF GOD’S PEOPLE TO ONE ANOTHER.

We believe that all God’s people are ministers and that they are responsible for ministry to one another.

“Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.” (1 Corinthians 12:7)

“But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” (Hebrews 3:13)

WE VALUE THE GATHERING OF GOD’S PEOPLE FOR WORSHIP.

We want God to be our focus when we gather together.

“Through Jesus Christ, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise – the fruit of lips that confess his name.”  (Hebrews 13:15).

WE VALUE THE DEVELOPMENT OF KINGDOM SERVANTS.

We want to equip and empower people to serve Jesus Christ according to His will, gifting and calling.

“And the things which you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.” (2 Timothy 2:2)

“Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into the harvest field.” (Matthew 9:38)

WE VALUE YOUNG PEOPLE.

We want to build young people for a lifelong relationship with Christ by not only ministering to them, but also by involving them in ministry.

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in faith and in purity.” (1Timothy 4:12)
