Want to Become a Host Family for an Exchange Student
for the 2024-2025 School Year
Being a host family offers the opportunity to learn about a different culture, language, and customs. It is also a great way to connect with a student from a different part of the world and develop a life-long relationship.
Not only will you be able to make a lasting impression on a young person’s life, but your family will also benefit from the experience. Hosting an exchange student can be a great way to expand your family’s worldview, understand another culture, and create unforgettable memories.
We offer a full school year and a limited number of semester students. The students will attend the public school district you live in.
If it’s not the right time for you and your family, please share with any one interested in hosting.
What is FLEX (Future Leaders Exchange)?
FLEX is a highly competitive, merit-based scholarship program funded by the U.S. Department of State in specific countries. Over 35,000 students compete annually in multiple rounds of testing to earn a FLEX scholarship. This allows them to spend an academic year in the United States with a volunteer host family while attending a U.S. high school.
While in the U.S., FLEX students gain leadership skills, learn about American society and values, and teach Americans about their home countries and cultures. FLEX students perform community service in their U.S. communities and act as ambassadors of their home countries. Because of the volunteerism they experience, it encourages them to develop and implement innovative projects in their home countries, using the skills and ideas they gained while on the program. FLEX students are naturally curious and enthusiastic citizens of the world.
